Paolo Nutini's Burns

Time present and time past are both perhaps present in time future:  check out this version of "A Man's a Man for A' That" by the Scottish singer Paolo Nutini.

The link didn't work for me, so I'm not sure which YouTube version you pointed to -- but in any case, thank you...and what a find! I'm a Richard Thompson follower of many years but hadn't stumbled on Paulo Nutini.

As far as the song, I remember years back talking with a musician friend who had newly converted it to more accessible American English. He sang "the man's the good,” and I explained that "the man's the gold." The rank is just the guinea's stamp...the man is the metal, itself. Remarkable.
